Our Favorite Amazon Buys

We buy almost everything off Amazon, no joke. In 2019 we placed 341 orders (most of the orders containing multiple items). So for this week’s Amazon edition I thought it would be fun to review all our purchases back to 2012 and pick out some of our favorites!

Below are our all time favorite purchases from Amazon – Enjoy!

**Post will be updated time to time to add new favorites

KITCHEN FAVORITES

Meat Thermometer – This has been a wonderful tool and super easy to use. We had two others that broke and I don’t think they read the temperature correctly or it was user error and I didn’t get it ha! Either way I love that this one is digital and has a chart for what temperature each type of meat should be (I have also used to take chocolate and oil temp too!).

Food Storage Containers & Cereal Containers – It took me a while to convince Alex that we needed these, he didn’t understand the point of taking food out of one package to put into another container….. BUT he is a believer now after seeing how nice it is to not have crumpled up chip bags and being able to see how many cashews are left haha! We also have open shelving for a pantry and it makes our snacks look prettier! There are many of these types of containers out there, but we swear by OXO brand. The functionality and quality I think are much better than others we tried.

Mesh Produce Bags – We got these to take to the grocery store with us and use in place of those plastic bags for fruit and produce. In general I just can’t stand those produce bags at the grocery store, I can never get them open in the store & hate storing lettuce in them. So these were the perfect solution, great to store produce in the fridge too!

Lemon / Lime Juicer – This is nothing revolutionary, but definitely a must have tool in the kitchen and bar!

Silicone Straws – We tried the metal ones, but these are just SO MUCH better! I think the metal ones are good for certain drinks (ie moscow mule, iced matcha latte), but for every day use drinking water I swear by these. These are soft squishy and closest thing to a plastic straw, but reusable (and dish washer friendly)!

Food Dicer – We use this ALL the time to prep and dice onions, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and so on. Sure you can dice yourself, but this tool makes it a breeze to get through a bunch at once and in perfect cubes! I store the fruit & veggies that I am going to use that week in pyrex glass containters in the fridge and the rest goes straight into the freezer in Ziploc bags!

Kitchen Aid Shredder Attachment – If you have a Kitchen Aid I strongly recommend getting this attachment! We started buying big blocks of cheese at Costco and shred it using this attachment (pre bought shredded cheese is not only more expensive, but has more preservatives in it to keep it from clumping together)! Freshly shredded cheese always tastes richer and this attachment is life saver!

Ninja Food Chopper – This is by far our all time favorite kitchen tool, we have a food process & blender, but this little guy is our go to gadget! We actually have two because we use it so much! We love to make guacamole (the Frontera mix is our favorite) in it!

HOME FAVORITES

Shell puzzle – I have loved doing puzzles since I was little and have a pretty good collection, this is one of my favorites! I love collecting shells on the beach so this picture is perfect. It is a 1000pcs puzzle, but some of the shells are big pieces and the picture is easy enough without too many white areas or the same image/coloring that I dread and always wait to the very end to do lol!

Folding Chairs – We got these for our Friendsgiving last year, they are same price as the normal metal folding ones that everyone has, but so much better looking! We think everyone should have these.

Air Purifier – When we moved into our loft it had a terrible smell. A mix of old dirtiness and incense trying to cover it up, so we got this. It took care of the smell, but more importantly it is HEPA purifier so it constantly cleans the air of indoor pollution (pollen, dust, Bacteria & Viruses, pet dander, mold spores, smoke, and volatile organic compounds which are emitted from building materials, furniture, carpeting, paint, cleaning and personal care products). We keep it in our living room and have it running all the time, it makes no noise and is energy efficient. It also alert us when we need to change the filter. Even if not this one, I think every home should have HEPA air purifier.

Hand Truck / Cart – This has been a life saver for us living in the city and traveling up north. It converts from a dolly to a cart in one swift move. We use the hand truck to move pieces of furniture around and whenever we go on a road trip we flip it into a cart to load and unload the car with all our stuff! It is just nice to have this around, you need it when you least expect it!

Dyson V8 Absolute – I LOVE this vacuum, I know other models have come out now so really I recommend any of the Dyson sticks. Very important that it has all the attachments, most importantly the soft roller head!! I love not dealing with a cord, being able to store and charge it so easily on the wall. I vacuum the kitchen every day and it is not a hassle at all, it is so quick and easy not having to haul out a big machine and get tangled in a cord! There is no way I would love this as much if I didn’t have the soft roller head for hardwood floors, it glides so much better than the standard brush head for carpet. The mini motorized head is also wonderful to have! It makes it so easy to vacuum couch cushions, stairs, mattresses, car seats. It is just the perfect tool to easily whip around!

Spacesaver Vacuum Storage Bags – these have been great to store guest room bedding and sweaters out of season. Whether or not you need the storage space, I still recommend these to store extra bedding and clothes so they do not get musty/absorb home smells. I always wash everything with the Downy Scent Booster before storing so when they come out of the bag they still smell fresh and clean!

FASHION & BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Leggings – These are my favorite! I have not tried any of the other of the highly rated ones on Amazon, because I love these so much! They are just like the lululemon align leggings, they are buttery soft and I def recommend them. I have had these for a year and wear them ALL the time, for regular day to day and working out. Just now they are starting to lose some of their hold and pile on the inside thighs. I was so happy with how these have held up (especially for the price and wear I put into them) so I ordered another pair.

Tree of Life Serums – New favorite, I have been using for about 2 months now. I had been buying the Ordinary product line (which I also recommend), but they were out of stock last time I needed more Hyaluronic Acid. So I did some research and decided to test this brand out, I ended up getting the 3 pack and very impressed with these products. I use the Vitamin C in the AM and Retinol in the PM with Hyaluronic Acid after both. I don’t know if it made a difference on fine lines, but I am really happy with my skin lately it just looks healthy and it didn’t get dried out at all this winter which I attribute to using these.

Face Roller – There are a lot out there and I didn’t compare different ones to say this is the best…. but I really like this one so yep. I love using in the morning to roll out my face, it wakes me and my skin up. This roller also definitely helps with puffiness. I like that this roller has a larger surface area than some of the jade rollers so it could be used to roll on a sore muscle too.

Babyliss Curling Iron – I just like this curling iron, I don’t buy these all the often like many years go by and when I needed a new one it took me forever to figure out which brand to get. After reading reviews and sites for hours I decided to try Babyliss 1.25″ and I am happily satisfied, I might buy the 1″ soon for a tad smaller curl.

Wahl Hair and Beard Trimmer – This is Alex’s favorite item from Amazon, this is a very high quality trimmer. He uses it to keep his beard tame and to stay cleaned up in between hair cuts. He said this is the best trimmer he has ever used. I also used this to cut his hair during quarantine 2x and can attest that it really was a great tool, it made cutting his hair very easy (Thanks to some youtube videos too lol)
